Petrelë Castle

With one of its towers dating back to the 5th century AD, Petrelë Castle (Kalaja e Petrelës) is one of the most historic sights in the Tirana District. The sight attracts a large number of tourists, mainly due to its location and scenic image. Aside the 5th century AD tower, the building dates from the 15th century, when it was reconstructed.

A trip to Petrelë Castle doesn’t come without special rewards. Inside, you’ll find a restaurant, which serves local cuisine and some international specialties. But the best reward are the views over the Erzen valley. From the castle, the travelers can admire olive groves, as well as neighboring hills and mountains.
